A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal

By  Alyssa Cormier     11:19 PM    Labels:,
I've always tried to keep up with a blog and never quite seem to be able. I've decided to kick start Inkscribes with the a to z challenge.

For the blog challenge I'm decided to write 200 word stories or double drabbles, based on fantasy/supernatural creatures/places/things. This is probably pretty typical, but I'll try to pick interesting ones. ^_^

  1. The A to Z challenge is the best way to kickstart a blog or to give a blog a boost. Either way you're sure to meet lots of new friends and make a ton of connections. It's a lot of work so I like to get most of my posts written in advance. It doesn't help that my blog is on the fritz, but I've been assured the loading problem will be taken care of in time. Best of luck with the challenge and if you run into any problems there are so many great and friendly people here that will offer all kinds of support. This really is the greatest group of people I've ever encountered. See you in April.

    1. Thanks so much. :)
I hope you're right! I think my problem was just not knowing what was I going to write about. A to Z at least gives me that. I'm kinda late to the bandwagon though, hopefully I can get a few of them written before April and Camp NaNo.
      Thank again!

  4. I love the name of your blog!
Signing up for the A to Z Challenge is the perfect way to kickstart your blog. This is my 6th challenge and from experience, I can assure you that this is a great networking opportunity.

The first fictional piece I ever attempted was the drabble. I love the punchiness of this form. It's also an excellent way to practise lean, tight writing.

See you around on the A to Z Challenge circuit!

    1. Thanks a lot! I'm glad people like the name. ^_^
Six challenges is amazing! I definitely hope to get into more and work (or crawl) my way into the bloggers community. A to Z definitely has a lot of people doing it and I can't wait to start reading all these wonderful blogs.

I wasn't normally a fan of short work. All my writing turned into trilogies and series. My experiment into shorter work was writing a -single- book that didn't escalate into something crazy. Then I joined a writers group that wrote 500 word stories and then moved to drabbles. I do love it, I love that each word needs thought (and while I say that's the same for a novel, it's not quite the same). I definitely agree with you and since I've started doing it I've had people comment on the change in my writing style. Hopefully for the better. ^_^

I look forward to reading your blog!

    1. Thanks, Inkscribes has been a name I've had for a while now, years even, but just haven't managed to do anything with it. I know people usually tend to write the blogs before before hand, but I'm a little late to the game. I got a few done. Heh.
Your blog looks interesting and I look forward to reading it!

    1. I'm really hesitant to write about historical things. Fear of getting things wrong I think. So you're blog comes off as really intriguing to me. Can't wait to read it. ^_^
